Writing
My high school teachers had many nice words to say about my writing, but somewhere my pen lost it’s way. Maybe it was in that forest of undergrad research papers. I won’t tell you how long ago that was, but there was a long spell in there where I didn’t do much writing.
In last few years, I’ve started writing again, remembering both the joy and the agony that comes out of crafting sentences. Here’s where you can find some of the words I’ve been willing to share in public:

Talking
In my 11th grade Creative Writing class, I won an award for best oral interpretation of Jonathan Edwards’ Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God. It’s not as distinguished as it may sound; I think my trophy was a long since consumed candy bar. But I’ve been riding the confidence boost ever since when it comes to public speaking.
Life as a pastor gives me plenty of chances to talk in front of people (though my Jonathan Edwards impersonation was a once only gig). Beyond our weekly church gatherings, here are some of my recent and/or upcoming talking to a crowd kind of things:
